Individual, Couples, and Family Therapy & Substance Abuse Counseling

Many people describe the process of therapy as a journey of becoming more self-aware, engaging in self-growth, and achieving self actualization. Psychotherapy is a collaborative process between therapist and client, that aims to facilitate change and improve quality of life. Therapy can help people confront barriers that interfere with emotional and mental well-being, and it can also increase positive feelings such as compassion, self-esteem, strength, and understanding. Jessica works with you based on what is brought to the session without predetermined ideas of how it will be and help you understand the thoughts and feelings that might contribute towards a certain behavior and help facilitate change with the aid of specific strategies or techniques whether you have specific mental health conditions such as addiction, anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsions, relationship concerns, stress management, trauma, as well as many other conditions that impact daily functioning. Often time’s distress can hide in the form of negative feelings, behaviors, and or sensations we feel in our body and mind. Through psychotherapy, clients are able to utilize skills to help manage and alleviate stress and or challenges that they will face in the future.

Jessica specializes in substance use disorders and holds an International Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) Master Counselor certification. She has extensive experience in working with clients with co-occurring conditions and uses techniques from Person Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to treat clients conditions as a whole. A strength based approach is utilized to emphasize an individual’s self-determination and their strengths. In addition, she makes referrals to outpatient and/or inpatient facilities when necessary.
