At Sense of Hope MHC, the care provided is individualized to each persons needs. Our mission is to provide a safe environment, in which you can grow, come to know yourself more deeply, and find ways to relieve your current struggles. Our belief is that each person has the ability to perceive themselves as a fundamentally healthy and goal oriented individual, and that by finding out more about yourself, you can find healthy ways to get your needs met and live your life more fully.
Through the use of an empathic, supportive approach to treatment, you will be assisted in feeling empowered to explore and work on overcoming your challenges in a safe, judgement free space. An eclectic approach is used to work collaboratively with you to help achieve a transformative experience based on your unique process of change and growth.
Founder, Jessica Matero, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), a National Certified Counselor (NCC), and an International Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) Master Counselor. Jessica received her clinical training from Pace University earning her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology and Education.
Jessica Matero completed her clinical experience with Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center in an outpatient opioid treatment program located in Bronx, N.Y. where she worked in the forefront of the opioid epidemic providing counseling services in medication assisted treatment for addiction. Jessica has several years of experience providing psychotherapeutic treatment to adults, young adults, and older adolescents, in an individual and group setting with requests for couples and family counseling. She conducts assessments and makes recommendations concerning the treatment, follow-up, and continuing care of her clients. Jessica is a certified provider for NYS OASAS Impaired Driver Program for assessments and has provided substance abuse evaluations for the courts.
